The Advocacy, Learning, and Inclusion Group for Next-generation psychologists (ALIGN) is a student-led group in the Department of Psychology at the University of Regina. Through our initiatives, we promote justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) within psychology. Our mission is to actively challenge and dismantle systemic racism, advocate for social justice, and foster a community that embraces the principles of JEDI.
We aim to organize at least one event or initiative each semester to realize our commitment to continuous improvement and inclusive practices.
Some of our past speaker events include:
Applying Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Academia
Intimate Partner Violence Through an Intersectional Lens
Disability/Accessibility 101
Intersections of Marginalized Identities and Homelessness
Foundations of Culturally Informed Clinical and Counselling Practice: An Introduction
Intersections of Race, Faith, and Queerness
